Appfarm AI is currently in beta.
Our AI features enable conversational development of enterprise applications while maintaining the visual transparency and governance that business-critical software requires. Whether you're building workflows, designing interfaces, or automating processes, we're developing AI to accelerate your work while keeping you in control.

Our approach

Appfarm AI features are powered by leading third-party AI models accessed through Google's Vertex AI platform. Unlike code generation tools that create hidden complexity, Appfarm AI generates transparent visual models that you can see, understand, and govern.

We're building AI capabilities specifically for enterprise application development, which means every feature is designed with security, compliance, and long-term maintainability in mind.

Data privacy and security

We know how important your data is to you, your company, and your clients. Our AI development process is designed to protect your privacy and confidential information.

We:

  • Do not use any data from Solutions connected to paid subscriptions for AI model training
  • Process only the required application metadata and conversation history
  • Process AI requests Google's Vertex AI platform
  • Encrypt all data at rest and in transit using enterprise-grade security measures
  • Enforce role-based permissions and access controls around who can view and access your data

When working with third-party AI providers, we:

  • Contractually prohibit AI providers from using your data for training their own models
  • Ensure data is processed and immediately deleted—no persistent storage by AI providers
  • Conduct rigorous security evaluations of all AI providers before integration

All AI features are built using the same security framework that earned our ISO 27001 certification.

Data processing

Here's what happens when you use Appfarm AI features:

Application metadata

When you use AI features, only the necessary configuration information is sent to AI providers:

  • Metadata containing the definition of your global data model, apps, and Solution configuration (the "Solution model")
  • Conversation history between you and the AI during your session

We do not process:

  • Data accessed and stored by your applications (your "Solution data")
  • Personal information

Usage analytics

We collect usage information at the Solution level to improve AI features:

  • Which AI features are used and how frequently
  • AI credit consumption patterns

Feedback data

When you choose to provide feedback on AI responses (thumbs up/down with optional comments), your conversation data and comments are sent to Appfarm to help improve AI features.

Managing AI settings

Solution-level control: Appfarm AI can be activated or deactivated for an entire Solution by contacting Appfarm support. This gives you complete control over when and how AI is used in your development environment.

Individual data control: Users can delete their AI conversation history at any time through the Appfarm AI chat panel.

AI credits: Usage-based AI features operate on a transparent credit system managed at the Solution-level.

Beta program

During the beta period, Appfarm AI is available for newly created Solutions. We're gathering feedback to ensure enterprise-grade reliability before general availability.

For existing Solutions: Access to AI features will be rolled out in a future release as we expand beyond the beta program.

You see exactly what it created and correct it visually, or ask the AI to fix it. Every change is tracked Roll back as you need. Mistakes are visible, not buried in code files.

What AI features are available in Appfarm Create?

Appfarm AI includes Build mode for conversational development of full-stack apps, and Ask mode for free AI assistance grounded in Appfarm documentation. Build mode consumes AI credits while Ask mode is completely free.

What third-party model providers does Appfarm use for AI features?

To power Appfarm AI features we work with multiple providers, such as Anthropic and Google, with models accessed through Google's Vertex AI platform. You can view the list of subprocessors used to power our AI features.

Can I use AI on existing Appfarm apps?

Yes. Use conversational development to extend what you've already built — new features, new modules, redesigned workflows — with full context of your existing application.

How long is my data stored by AI providers?

Data sent to AI providers is processed and immediately deleted—there is no persistent storage by third-party AI providers.

How is Appfarm different from vibe coding tools?

Vibe coding generates source code from prompts. Appfarm generates visual models — data structures, UI, logic, integrations — all visible and editable. Anyone on your team can review what the AI built, not just developers who read code.

Can I delete my AI conversation history?

Yes, users can delete their AI conversation history at any time through the Appfarm AI chat interface.
