Challenge

Feiring saw a need to improve and further streamline a digital workflow between production managers and in-field workers. Their focus was to improve planning and to better monitor daily operations and simplify reporting on production, as well as to facilitate quality-sampling from running production lines.

This originated from a prior digitalization project, where the choice of platform left the company with a time-consuming and error-prone development process. This reduced overall productivity as iterating on the solution was resource intensive.

Solution

  • Custom functionality was added to Feiring's solution to allow the relevant stakeholders to define and collaborate on production plans.
  • A mobile app was created to enable reporting for in-field personnel.
  • Their new solution enabled product sampling, inspection and quality control according to industry standards.
  • Overview of silo content visualized for relevant stakeholders.
  • This entire solution was implemented in just 12 weeks.

Results

The IT manager at Feiring, Tim Johansson, shares that ever since adopting Appfarm’s no-code platform, the IT team has improved their efficiency and can now, in dialogue with end-users, iterate on the existing solutions while simultaneously developing new applications with partners. As an example; a fully usable MVP for new orders, usable by both customers and internal users, was developed in cooperation with an Appfarm partner within one calendar month. The fact that this project was delivered under budget, wasn’t within what was considered to be possible, even in Feiring’s most optimistic projections.
