Digitalizing access control in the healthcare sector

As the aging population is surpassing the amount of available resources in the healthcare sector, the need for digital solutions that can improve the patient care processes and make it more efficient and secure is becoming increasingly important 

Careium is a global provider of technology that improves the quality of life for people receiving healthcare. As more and more are implementing digital locks in their homes, they saw the opportunity to digitalize access control for home care providers and increase security for the receivers, by building an administration application integrated with the digital locks. This would save a great amount of time in administrating physical keys, as well as improve security for home care providers and receivers.

Careium approached Appfarm partner Voglio with their needs, and they began building out the solution and provided a proof of concept. When approved, Voglio began working on the functionality in the back end, and after a few months, the solution was ready to onboard customers. The solution includes two applications: one for the administration to provide, manage and monitor access control to home care providers, and one used by the home care providers to access the residency of the care receivers.
